Table Top Exercise (TTX4)

July 23rd, 2025

LWC’s Incident Command conducted its 4th Table Top Exercise (TTX4) Wednesday, July 23rd in the Rec Center. Led by resident and career Fire Captain David Dumas, we discussed strategies involved in various local wildfire scenarios, and developed protocols for each IC unit to assist LWC residents.

To provide context for a wildfire scenario that we might experience, we reviewed the After Action Report (AAR) of the Echo Mountain Complex Fire Labor Day Weekend, 2020 that devastated the Otis area just off the coast a few miles north of Lincoln City.

Please read Michael Tomlinson’s TTX4 Report for more information about the following: Action Items, Improving Communication & Coordination, Preparation and Prevention, Evacuation & Survival Plans, Education & Community Preparedness. See also the interesting account he included of the “Great Depoe Bay Fire” of 1936 with old-timey photos.

How information is shared among:

  • LWC’s Community Radio Service (CRS)
  • Depoe Bay’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
  • Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) – Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS)
