Neighbors Helping Neighbors – Our best strategy for

building a resilient community!

When the power goes out, a storm rolls in, or another community-wide emergency event occurs, the first person to offer help is more likely to be your neighbor than a professional first responder.

On Thursday, May 7 the LWC Incident Command System (ICS) will conduct a training exercise during which Safety Captains, wearing ID badges and orange vests, will visit the homes in their area from 1:30 – 2:30 PM to conduct a Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) to determine the status of residents, homes, infrastructure, etc. during a hypothetical emergency event.

Please read this article about the May 7 training exercise, learn what Safety Area you live in and who your Safety Captain is.

helping other Neighbors,

and so it goes!

Welcome to the LWC Safety Committee / Emergency Preparedness (EP) webpage. It is a treasure trove of documents, resources and information to help our residents prepare in advance to be self reliant in emergency situations.
