ICS Field Exercise – May 7
Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Our best strategy for building a resilient community
When the power goes out, a storm rolls in, or another community-wide emergency event occurs, the first person to offer help is more likely to be your neighbor than a professional first responder.
On Thursday, May 7 the LWC Incident Command System (ICS) conducted a training exercise during which Safety Captains, wearing ID badges and orange vests, visited the homes in their area from 1:30 – 2:30 PM to conduct a Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) to determine the status of residents, homes, infrastructure, etc. during a hypothetical emergency event.
