July 23rd – Table Top Exercise (TTX Report)
Residential & Wildland Fire Danger Scenario
The Safety Committee held its 4th Table Top Exercise (TTX) with a local wildfire awareness scenario. Facilitated by Dave Dumas, resident and career fire captain, the LWC Incident Command System (ICS) team discussed strategies for helping residents become more aware of and better prepared for the reality of a house fire and local wildfire, as well as fire prevention techniques.
To provide context for the need to be aware of the threat of fire within our community, Oregon has declared a state of emergency due to “the imminent and ongoing threat of wildfires” which have burned 100,000 acres already this season.
